Subject: A Personal Request for Disaster Relief Donations

Hello everyone,

As you may have heard, this past weekend the Philippines was ravaged by Tropical Storm Ketsana (referred to locally as “Typhoon Ondoy”) leaving behind a trail of devastation and causing the president to declare a state of calamity in the capital region and 26 surrounding provinces. The official death toll has reached 240 with hundreds more missing, several hundred displaced and sick, and while property loss and damage is yet untallied, it is staggering. Rescue efforts have been slow due to the government forces’ lack of equipment, and many ordinary citizens have been injured or killed while contributing to rescue efforts. It is considered the country’s Hurricane Katrina/Tsunami combined. Everyone who is able is contributing to rescue and relief efforts as much as they can in the form of personal donation and manpower to supplement the government’s next to non-existent calamity fund and to supplement the efforts of local and international organizations such as The Philippine Red Cross.

As a personal undertaking, I am passing the hat around the office for any help you can give. The Kapisanan Philippine Centre, a local Filipino community group I belong to, has pitched in the relief efforts here in Toronto by collecting donations in both cash and kind. Cash donations will be donated to Global Medic, a Toronto-based volunteer agency that is deploying a relief mission to the Philippines to provide safe drinking water.  Goods will be shipped and distributed by local affiliates upon receipt. Anything you can give would be truly appreciated. I’ve just learned that cash and certain goods (such as new clothing, non-perishable food items and medicine) are preferable to used clothing as there are customs restrictions regarding the latter.

If any of you are able, please come see me to donate either cash or any of the goods I have listed above by end of day Friday. I’ll be taking these to the Centre on Saturday which is the drop off day for the collected goods and funds which will be tallied and dispatched. As this won’t be going through any charitable channels, no tax receipts will be issued. However since this is a personal effort, I’ll ensure your individual donations will be noted by the Centre.

On that note, I just wanted to mention that everyone at the Manila office is safe and sound and the office has been operational as of yesterday.

Thanks in advance for any support you can give.

Yours in hope,

Carla

> Akanishi Poses Fully Nude for First Time, Tuesday September 29, 2009
In the latest issue of the women's magazine ‘an・an' that went on sale on September 23rd, KAT-TUN member Akanishi Jin posed fully nude for his first time! The boldness and sheer provocativeness of the photos were unprecedented for a Johnny's member. Akanishi showed off his trim body while also appearing with a foreign female model in some racy, suggestive scenes. There were even pictures of the two passionately kissing each other.

The other Johnny's members who had appeared nude in the same magazine include V6 member Okada Junichi, Matsumoto Jun of Arashi and Yamashita Tomohisa of NEWS. For this particular edition the magazine chose Akanishi because “From the standpoint of women, he epitomizes an ideal form of male sexiness.” For the previous articles featuring Johnny's members, the photos while provocative had retained a pure, innocent aspect. For the Akanishi version an・an added a different theme: ‘Males Loving Females Tenderly'. Also, Akanishi himself requested for the photos to show an ‘aggressive style' as well. Among the scenes ‘produced' by Akanishi include a photo where he gently bites the jaw of the female model while caressing each other. Throughout the photo session Akanishi talked with the female model in fluent English to make her feel comfortable. The intimate atmosphere between the two made it seem as if the pair really were seeing each other.

The sexy, wild ‘Akanishi Land' spanned 8 whole pages, and doubtless female fans became hypnotized by the photos,
