Takuya must have been first in line when God gave out sex appeal. I love this guy. I love his voice, his face, the way he moves, everything about him. Takuya Kimura was the one who drew me into the blackhole of japanese entertainment  first as an actor and then as a singer with the jpop group SMAP.He is truly the king of japanese drama or jdorama, his dramas getting a high viewership and rating every time they air. He has won countless times as best actor for  drama. His agency, Johnny Jimusho also known as Johnny Entertaiment or JE ran by the formidable Johnny Kitagawa, refused Takuya's nomination for best actor for the movie Love and Honor in 2007. The very first drama I saw of Takuya's was Good Luck about pilots and service crew of an airline in Japan. Takuya in a pilot's uniform with aviator sunglasses is a knock out. His acting was perfect, very natural. This was followed by Engine  where he was paired with the beautiful actress Koyuki of The Last Samurai fame. He was a race car driver with a heart of gold who helped orphans. Meltdown. I have to thank my very young friend and mentor Dra. Kristine Tan who was an intern at that time as she held my hand as I gingerly stepped into this fascinating alternative universe called fandom. My mom and I were confirmed korean drama addicts then, but I temporarily said good-bye to kdrama and hello to jdorama.

Then there was this 2004 HK movie of Wong Kar Wai that premiered at the Cannes filmfest, where Takuya had a double role as the Japanese boyfriend of Faye Wong (another actress I love) and as Tak the passenger on the train to 2046 and back. He hardly had any speaking lines in the movie but his subtle acting mostly with his eyes and those kissing scenes got me hooked. And so I found myself watching as many of his dramas and he has loads and getting into the world of SMAP.

Before he became an actor he was a singer and still is with SMAP, the creation of boy band impressario Johnny Kitagawa. Takuya entered Johnny's Entertainment (Johnny Jimusho) at 12 and last year was the group's 20th anniversary. they celebrated with a concert for six days at Tokyo Dome and concerts at other venues across Japan.

Takuya 's acting and singing and dancing is always intense and passionate. He was a low level samurai in the 2007 movie Love and Honor, one of the 47 loyal ronins or masterless samurai in Chuushingura , a young Oda Nobunaga the 16th century warlord, Japan's youngest Prime Minister in the political romance drama Change. That is one political drama I wish our politicians would watch, it pits the traditional politicians against the idealistic young leaders of Japan. and I love this hosto turned genius role in Mr. Brain where he solved seemingly unsolvable crimes.

Just another day in paradise

My birthday meme. Spazzin' and flailin' over my blessings.Thank you Lord.

Today was just another day in paradise and I turned a year older. Started the day with meditation then mass at the Stella Orientes.Logged into my online Kabbalah class for an hour. This time the broadcast was from St, Louis with Mike Kellog.There is none else beside Him-Shamati 1. 

Thanked Mama,Cosette, Ching and Cynch for the gifts.Got a kiss from Miguel,the only male in my life now aside from Jin Akanishi who is virtual and Jo In Sung who is not only virtual but in the army for two years.:( I love you sweetie, Miguel, try not to grow up too fast. Got an email from Lala , its only July 28 in Toronto so tomorrow she will call.Got text messages and calls from friends,family and a personal note.Chatted on YM with Agnes from Jakarta.Got a surprise call from my first arnis instructor Guro Maning Borza who said he has a website arnisrapado.com Remind to tell Guru Dedy about it.

Finally opened a Twitter account and it took me a while to figure out how to embed that widget in this blog. Posting on twitter is like having a conversation with myself! *Wicked!* Followed Nick Perlas and shenbrood(Dave) on Twitter.

Cynch treated me to buffet at the Heat at Shang Edsa Hotel. Today was about food.That shrimp cuddled in a fillet of sole and simmered in a melange of tomato sauce with fresh cream and hollandaise was too yummy for words.Edam and brie cheese, smoked salmon and salmon sushi, fresh green salads,spinach seafood soup (too salty), ebi tempura, shrimp siomai,yorkshire pudding, buttery bread pudding and vanilla ice cream(childhood comfort food),white chocolates.But gingerale was out of stock. I was in foodie heaven. Visited the Health Club at Shang with Cynch and saw Paolo Contis, Dingdong Dantes (Cynch stared and stared and stared), Mr. Smith the husband of Mrs.Smith (no kiddding), I talked to Mr.Smith too. Spoke to James Yap the basketball player who also jogs at the Ultra Oval where we first met.Cynch stared again and asked him his family name. Only then did she realize who he was. *lol*

Stared at Jin Akanishi's picture, the sexy one from the Break the record summer tour 2009 and drooled on my keyboard.That's my lappy's wallie now. Hey, I may be a year older physically but my brain is stuck in adolescence. 

Listened to Daughtry's new album,Leave this town. Love the track No surprise and You don't belong. Listened to my favs from Daughtry's 2006 album-Feels like tonight,It's over and What about now. Listened to Jin Akanishi's Wonder in english featuring Crystal Kaye and Jin's solo Care,Murasaki and Hesitate.Can't get enough of his voice, its awesome. He really should have his own album and solo concert soon. Are you listening Johnny sama? Listened to my collection of the classics from the anime La Corda d'Oro. *Floated* Remind self to listen to my classic collection from the anime Nodame Cantibile.*bliss*

Did other important but boring stuff.Multitasked.

Daydreamed I was on the beach in Marbella, Bali, Boracay, Bohol,Maldives.I swear it was so real, I got a sunburned nose from it. *evil laughter*

Jin Akanishi born July 4,1984. Japanese idol( yes, that's his job description), actor, singer, voice actor, one of the lead vocalist of Kat-tun, the japanese pop band,songwriter and composer. Happy Birthday to the King of Sexy,beautiful,talented,free spirit,man of substance. Here are some of my favorite Jin icons and photos from An an 2008 where he was featured as second sexiet man in Japan and With magazine 2009. Jin has one of the best voices in Johnny Jimusho, the agency that has guided his career since he was 14 years old. The talents managed by this agency are collectively called Johnnys after Johnny Kitagawa who established Johnny Jimusho in 1963.  He hit the high notes while harmonizing for the ballad version of the song Gold during Kat-tun's Kaizokouban pre- debut concert in 2005 that totally rocked the concert audience that night.  Jin's fandom is awaiting with excitement his on screen debut in the movie Bandage where he plays Natsu a 90's indie rocker. The producers had him specifically in mind when casting for the lead actor.The movie opens in January 2010. Enjoy the video of Jin singing Murasaki[Purple] and some of his solo songs Murasaki, Hesitate and Care. And a fancam rip of his new [2009]solo in english Wonder featuring Crystal Kaye. Takuya Kimura the japanese super star and idol turned 36 on Nov. 13,2008 and his fangirls in the country celebrated with a party Nov.15 at the Legend Hotel.And speaking about split personalities, I'm here in my fangirl mode. Norlyn a Takuya fan-atic came all the way from Bagiou. Missed another Takuya fan-atic Simone who had to attend to her family's business in Nueva Vizcaya.The ultimate fangirl Nerie Espanola dragged me along to the party where I met fellow Takuya and Jin Akanishi lover Katz. I missed party organizer Gigi ( check out her my purple world blog for more fangirl raves) as I had to go to another function.It was fun being with the fans, watching SMAP DVD concerts and checking out the concert goodies of those who were lucky enough to go to Tokyo for SMAP's 20th anniversary (envy envy envy). Loved the September 2008 Anan magazine issue Gigi brought back which was full of Takuya and other idols picture.This is a real collector's item.My photos are blurry and I didn't have time to dye my hair so I look like an obachan.The great looking photos were taken by Katz who happens to be a chemist. Wow this was a super grounding activity. Loved it!!!!

Champagne Lunch Birthday

My sister Cynch Gubler turned a year "younger" October 6,2008 and the Fabulous Ferrer sisters plus mother, helped her celebrate at a champagne and buffet lunch at the Heat of Shangrila Edsa Hotel. It was a girls only lunch as we toasted to her health, beauty and wealth with champagne Moet et Chandon and ginger ale. And we added a cryptic toast -Sila anay bag-o kita.
