My sister Cynch Gubler turned a year "younger" October 6,2008 and the Fabulous Ferrer sisters plus mother, helped her celebrate at a champagne and buffet lunch at the Heat of Shangrila Edsa Hotel. It was a girls only lunch as we toasted to her health, beauty and wealth with champagne Moet et Chandon and ginger ale. And we added a cryptic toast -Sila anay bag-o kita.

Dept. of Education Secretary Jesli Lapuz celebrated another milestone with a dinner party for family &friends on Sept.12,2008 & Karen & I were there.Gilbert, Nikki & I reminisced about Tito Bert. Loren & I sat at one table, laughed about our Berlin trip ages ago & chatted about our environmental advocacies. Is she running for president in 2010? Is it Jesli & Gilbert for senator in 2010? Your guess is as good as mine.

Pauvre Sarah Palin, se fait avoir. C'est trop drôle. Sarah Palin has been had by a prank call from a radio comedy duo based in Montreal called Les Justiciers Masqués or the masked avengers.The conversation is too funny, I was *ROFLMAO*rolling on the floor laughing my azz off* Check out this video from the Canadian Press and the 6 minute radio recording of the actual conversation of Palin with Quebec comedian Marc-Antoine Audette who claimed he was France's President Nicolas Sarkozy.Audette tells Palin his wife, Carla Bruni, a singer and former model, was jealous to hear Sarkozy would be speaking to Palin. ``Give her a big hug for me," Palin responds.
Audette goes on to describe Bruni as "hot in bed" and claims she's written a song for Palin, the French title of which translates as "Lipstick on a Pig." In English, Audette says the song is about Joe the Plumber.
On election day November 4,2008 in the USA, the voice of the people will either bring Palin to the top of the heap of the political stratosphere or consign her to the dustbin of political history. The lady is spunky though, through all of these, and for that I give her the thumbs up. C'est la vie. Bonne chance.C'est tout, merci. *rire*laugh*

I'm wired from the awesome one night only reunion performance of Fire-Ana and Soraya after a ten year hiatus. The Captain's Bar of Mandarin Manila was packed with rockers and rollers who screamed, shouted and danced to Ana and Soraya's rendition of Queen's We are the

champion and We will rock you, the Beatles Yesterday, Hey Jude, Ana's very soulful and amazing rendition of the theme song of Love Story in english and spanish and Soraya's riveting and sexy performance of Proud Mary. The two hour show ended with a four song encore of Abba favorites like Dancing Queen. Rocker Nilo Santos sang some Rolling Stone oldies like I can't get no satisfaction.It was a Las Vegas show in Makati.Thank you for the music my friends. I love you. And so to sleep  and dreamland with Fire's cool vibes keeping me company.

I toasted him back with my beverage of choice, sparkling mineral water. Benjie, now woozy from the sparkling white wine, tried to follow the seemingly sophisticated chatter in several languages. Nacho and I continued our verbal flirting camouflaged by the senseless prattle to the total amusement of Angelica.

Ten minutes to midnight, Angelica and I made our way to the back of the house checking out the bedroom where we will spend the night together with the Austrian contingent. We wanted to get away from the party crowd in the living room area. We didn’t want some strange lips on ours on New Year’s Eve. Angelica took out a pack of Gitanes and started to smoke.

Two minutes to the Witching Hour. Somebody rushed into our private space and grabbed me by the hand. It was Nacho. I gamely went with him lured by the urgency of his touch.

We entered the bathroom and he shut the door “Happy New Year”, he said into my ear with a nibble. Then he kissed me. I barely had time to gulp for air as I kissed him back with the same passion.” Hey, why lose the momentum”, I was laughing to myself. “I like these strange lips on mine tonight.”

In the background we could hear the count down begin. Zehn, neun, acht, seiben, sechs, funf, vier, drei, zwei , eins “Glueckliche Neues Jahr- Happy New Year!!!!” Nacho and I were oblivious to everything else but each other.

Then we heard the door open and framed against the light were three little figures. “Was machst du da?-What are you doing?” squeaked little Amica. “ Nichts, Nothing.”, we replied in unison as I scooted out of the toilet.

I ran back to Angelica who was still smoking her Gitanes and drinking Sekt. Nacho followed closely behind me. “Hey girl”, he said with a wink, “remind me next time to lock the door.” I laughed and I nodded. “What was that all about?” Angelica asked batting heavily sequined lashes.

And that was how I kissed John Travolta on a New Year’s Eve in wintry Stuttgart.

Chocolate is the first Snow Patrol song I listened to, its in the soundtrack of the 2006 movie Last Kiss and I got hooked. I felt like I was on a road trip and the window of the SUV was open and I could feel the wind and the rain on my face. Its music to listen to on the beach as the sun is setting, its music to while away a rainy day, its music to dance to alone on the edge of tomorrow.Listen and forget the world. I tuned in to chill out music for years and this band's music has that same blissful quality.Chasing Cars from their 2006 album Eyes Open was an insert song for the second season of Grey's Anatomy, Run,Chasing Cars and Signal Fire are in the ost of Spiderman 3.
