Blog Action Day for Peace: September 21,2011

This September 2011 the world celebrates PEACE MONTH  culminating  on September 21, 2011, the International Day of Peace. In the Philippines, the celebration is being spearheaded by PeaceTech and everyone is invited to unite and help promote the use of technology for peace.

Peace Tech is conducting a number of activities:

1. Facilitators Training on September 17 at PUP Sta. Mesa. (free PeaceTech shirts and free food for everyone who attend)
2. Mass VIdeoconference on September 21 with more than 3,000 students from Manila and another 3,000 from Cotabato City talking live to each other. (experience the power of technology first hand)
3. Blog Action Day for Peace on September 21. Let us spread why peace is important to us and our country. (talk about any topic on peace preferably on why the peace process in Mindanao is important. Let us tell the world about peace.)

   Songs for peace

   Two songs have been released to augment this year’s celebration:

   • THIS IS OUR WAY – PeaceTech Theme song composed and sang by Trina Belamide
   • BAGONG PILIPINAS – an original song for peace composed by the 3rd year High School students of Iligan City East High School, Iligan City
